By now we all know that Pantone has chosen two colors of the year for 2016 - Rose Quartz and Serenity. Yesterday I showed you my take on a Rose Quartz wedding and today I have a Serenity inspired style board for you.
Serenity is a gorgeous, soft blue that flirts with being periwinkle. I'll admit, I had a hard time deciding which direction to go with this - Serenity lends itself well to many different design schemes. In the end, I went with a light English garden theme because flowers were my first love. Compared to other colors, there aren't a whole lot of blue blooms to choose from (and please don't dye flowers - it hurts my soul and will stain your wedding dress at the slightest inkling of moisture). Hydrangea, delphinium, scabiosa, thistle, and muscari immediately come to mind, but they have to be the right shade - all of them can skew purple. My vision is of full, lush floral decor dominated by white blooms and pretty greenery. Let the blue serve as an accent in the bouquet ribbon and boutonnieres. Serenity will take center stage in ethereal tulle bridesmaids skirts and non-floral decor. And how cute are the matching macarons?!
Would you choose Serenity or Rose Quartz as a wedding color?
